Details of Staff Numbers and Staff Training

All staff are qualified to NVQ level 2 and above or are working towards it. The home’s staff are selected for their qualities of reliability, integrity, skill, friendliness and professionalism. They are carefully screened and references are always checked thoroughly. During induction all staff is trained in-house by the Management in the following critical subjects:

• Confidentiality
• The rights of Service User’s
• Health and Safety
• Food Hygiene and Safety
• Personal Care Tasks
• Care Assistants Responsibilities
• Moving and Handling
• First Aid

All new staff will complete an induction. The home insists that all Senior Care Assistants hold a minimum of NVQ level 2 in Care. All new members of staff must train to achieve this important qualification within the first 12 months of employment.

The home also sends all staff on external training courses for such topics as Food Hygiene, Moving and Handling, Care of the Elderly, First Aid, and Drugs Practice etc
